Supply Chain Quality Manager

Purpose of the Job:

 

To develop Quality standards and expectations of Pace with EMS Partners and suppliers to ensure high standards of Quality are continually and consistently attained. To coordinate the resolution of Quality issues that may arise and to manage routing Quality management activities as required.

Principle Accountabilities:

 
  • Responsibility for the ownership of the relationship with Pace EMS partners and Suppliers from a Quality perspective.
  • To ensure the full engagement of the EMS partners Quality team in the timely and effective resolution of Quality requirements including but not limited to
    - Performance reporting
    - Issue management.
    - New Product introductions
  • To provide regular reports relating to status, progress opportunities and issues.
  • To work closely with the Customer Support and Account Teams to ensure effective communications on all Quality related concerns.
  • To manage and where appropriate escalate concerns as & when they occur with EMS / Supplier internal Management teams.
  • To provide front line support to Pace partners where queries arise over a product of Pace process query.
  • Employ continuous improvement principles, and seek to ensure institutionalisation of disciplines, process & tools.
  • To instil Pace process and procedures at EMS & Supplier sites and ensure continuing adherence thereto.
  • Assist in the identification of Quality Improvement efficiency opportunities in relation to either Pace or CEM / ODM process.
  • Support the Customer Support and Account Team where opportunities for product Quality Improvement during the Design and production phases of product evolution and introduction.
  • Manage internal and external supplier relationships and work in partnership with the Customer Account Teams to understand requirements and ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

 
  • The appointee will bring with them a wealth of experience of successful leadership of Quality Assurance and control in a high volume Information Technology environment, with a proven record of on time, high-quality delivery.
  • It is essential that he/she be adaptable whilst maintaining key Quality principles and must be able quickly to become a well-respected, effective Quality Engineer.
  • Must have substantial technical credentials in the field of Quality Assurance and Manufacture in terms of experience as well as qualifications
  • Ideally educated to Degree level in Electronics, Engineering or Quality related discipline, Minimum requirement being HNC (or Equivalent)
  • The position requires outstanding levels of communication and negotiation skills along side the ability to act autonomously and decisively whenever necessary.
  • Proven ability to direct EMS Quality teams through the extensive use of training, motivation to ensure primary focus on Pace Quality requirements.
  • Should be experienced in the use of Quality tools with Supervisory / Management experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the needs of "development to manufacture", preferably in high volume manufacturing, in order to maximise speed to market
  • Previous experience of managing multi-site and offshore EMS distinctly beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and reporting skills
  • Must be computer literate
  • Six Sigma experience beneficial
