Business Account Manager
USA - NEAR AN AIRPORT - PREFERRED
Position reports in to VP of Sales/Satellite and is responsible for working within the CAT team to influence, provide and manage the business cases for existing products (repeat orders), follow on products (cost downs or feature improvements) and new technologies. Work involves ensuring best cost scalability, and margin for products and working with the Finance Director, VP of Technology, VP of Engineering, Group Account Manager and Operations Manager to ensure achievable product estimations and clear provision of solutions and delivery of product..
As an example of some of the major responsibilities of the position:
- Creates business cases and manages deliverables within the CAT.
- Manages CAT metrics for development costs, product volume, revenue and margin as well as ensures that "best efforts" have been made to give the best possible delivery time, delivered cost and margin.
- Develops close relationships within the team across all functions and levels, and ensures that the principles of the CAT are being delivered.
- Develops business cases in association with VP of Technology and VP of Engineering in accordance with the requirements of the customer.
- Assists in controlling the P&L of the CAT by understanding and collating the overall income versus expenditure and reporting on a monthly basis.
- Provides and manages detailed financial costing information for the Development team to work to and the Commercial team to negotiate with (including the parameters for margin).
- Works with the VP of Engineering, Project Managers, and Finance Director to ensure that the product roadmap costings and exploitation is in line with the goals of the CAT and the corporation.
- Works closely with Operations group to ensure all customer metrics are met. such as quality, production, pricing, and deliveries.
- Oversees the NPI process and provides feedback to all key CAT members.
- Assists Group Account Manager, Engineering Director and Architect in keeping the CAT "on message" in terms of delivery cost.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Strong product knowledge and experience in STB industry, with a record of management, delivery and control of platforms and products is essential.
- Must have the ability to quickly to become a well-respected member of the team and be able to demonstrate a good aptitude for team work and problem solving.
- Some knowledge of technology is required for this role.
- The candidate must have a good understanding of the elements required to design and build a STB cost effectively.
- The candidate must be able to choose and recommend the most cost effective and strategic method to deliver the product to all the required parameters (cost, time, spec).
- The position requires outstanding levels of communication skills - the ability to communication clearly, concisely and persuasively - and strong negotiation skills along with the ability to act decisively whenever necessary.
- Proven ability to work within large professional teams through the extensive use of motivation, logical reasoned argument and other management techniques is essential.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL/VISUAL/HEARING ABILITIES
- Requires the ability to perform light lifting in the handling of work materials and equipment.
- Requires visual skills necessary for reviewing a considerable amount of written materials for the accurate maintenance of information and records.
- Requires frequent domestic and some international travel, which may require driving a variety of rental vehicles.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- In depth understanding of the trends of consumer markets with strong focus on commercial issues, testing and quality from both the customer and internal perspectives is required.
- Broad understanding of financial management at both departmental and project level is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in a professional customer facing environment is required.
- A self motivated, creative, results orientated individual with a passion for achieving success and excellence within a team is desired.
Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
