Purpose of the Job:

 

To work as part of the Architects team to create and managed product requirements based on current product architecture knowledge, customer feedback (through the customer facing teams) and industry knowledge.

To design system architectures for Pace Network products, with the aim to ensure that they satisfies the requirements of the multiple projects within the company.

To be the system specialist for development programmes, able to make key architectural decisions for both short and long term goals.

Direct/Guide the hardware, software and custom logic teams within Pace Networks to ensure architectural consistency and fit for purpose.

To act as a specialist, acknowledged as "an expert" within the Pace Networks product field, providing research information, knowledge, awareness and advice to the Company in this field.

Principle Accountabilities:

 

Guided by the CTE, and as part of the architecture team be responsible for overall product architecture based on the roadmaps and outline customer requirements.

Drive forward architectural aspects to ensure that issues are understood, tracked and resolved.

Work with the CTE to steer the direction of the architecture internally and externally with customers and partners.

Ensure that new feature requirements are well documented and appropriately designed

Act as spokesperson for the company in his/her designated field as required

Guided by the CTE and along with the team leads design, document and police the overall architecture of Pace Network products.

Liaise with internal and external partners to assess the benefit of other technologies within Pace Networks and be involved in and ensure Pace's wider technology initiatives.

Contribute to, and influence, external bodies specific to their field of expertise

In conjunction with CTE, be responsible for the Architectural roadmaps for Pace Networks

Guided by the CTE and supported by the heads of engineering be responsible for planning of advanced development projects

Generate, and assist others in their generation of, ideas relating to Intellectual Property in line with the Company's technology strategy

Help to build a strong Pace Networks team by assisting the heads in recruitment and promoting appropriate behaviours within the team.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

 

1.    Educated to at least degree level with extensive experience and proven capability in their chosen field of expertise. Specialist qualification or recognition in area of expertise likely

2.    Experience and expertise in cable/IPTV head-ends, HFC networks, Internet Protocol, DVB, DOCSIS

3.    Broad experience and awareness of relevant and related fields of technology

4.    Likely to have published papers, presented ideas at seminars and established IP

5.    Proven ability to interact with professional teams and projects

6.    Understands commercial implications of technological choices

7.    Good interpersonal, communication, presentation and reporting skills
