Pace plc and DTG Award recognises digital TV contribution in the UK

Digital TV vendors, operators and associations are invited to enter the third annual Award for the “Best Contribution to Digital TV” with products or services that are making a major contribution to the lead the UK has established in the digital television industry. Pace plc and the Digital TV Group (DTG) launched these Awards in 2007 to recognise the project, product or service that has made, or has the potential to make, the biggest contribution to the development of digital TV in the UK.
The awards will be judged by the DTG Council and the presentation to the winners will take place at the IBC show in Amsterdam in September 2009. In its first year, 2007, the inaugural “Best Contribution to Digital TV” Award was won by BSkyB’s SkyHD service and in 2008 Freesat was declared the winner.
Commenting on this year’s awards Helen Kettleborough, Director of Corporate Communications, Pace plc said: “The television industry is constantly evolving, giving UK consumers access to new and differentiated digital TV services. At Pace we would like to encourage the industry to join in and celebrate innovation and vision in the UK digital TV industry by making sure their products and services are in contention by entering this year’s awards.”
Companies that have launched or are launching a product or service between the 1st August 2008 and 31st July 2009 can enter the Pace / DTG “Best Contribution to Digital TV in the UK” Award and gain recognition for their contribution to making the UK into one of the most advanced countries in the world for digital television.
