Pace Networks signs up first Approved Partner
Auriga to distribute Pace’s MultiDweller® platform in Italy
September 10 2009
As part of an ongoing programme to support the roll-out of its MultiDweller distribution platform Pace Networks, a specialised division within Pace plc the leading developer of digital TV technologies, has signed up its first Networks Approved Partner (NAP). Pace Networks has been created to build out Pace’s strengths in video distribution technology through a new range of products that help unlock inaccessible digital subscribers.
Auriga, an Italian based distributor of SMATV systems and TV consumer products, is the first company to join the NAP programme with the aim of enhancing the digital TV experience in apartment blocks and hotels in the region. Using MultiDweller’s capabilities, Auriga will aim to increase the channel line-up and provide full HD services to viewers in multi-dwelling buildings which were previously beyond the accessible foot print of service providers in Italy.
“At Auriga we have been provisioning digital TV services in Italy for many years but have encountered both technology and cost limitations when it comes to servicing entire building blocks with full HD, premium TV services,” said Riccardo Gianni, CEO, Auriga. “Pace’s MultiDweller platform solves many of these problems and provides access to digital entertainment services to new audiences we couldn’t have previously accessed. We are delighted to become Pace’s first Networks Approved Partner and are looking forward to rolling out MultiDweller to help a new wave of consumers gain access to innovative TV services.”
MultiDweller acts as a multiservice gateway that redistributes digital content over the localised network it creates through existing MATV co-axial infrastructure. It can provision triple-play IP services including premium payTV services, broadband and telephony. Auriga will be looking to distribute the MultiDweller platform through its network of digital TV installers to build out converged digital services to new viewers.
Peter Balchin, General Manager, Pace Networks said: “Pace’s MultiDweller platform creates an extremely cost effective solution for monetising hard-to-reach subscribers. The Italian market is ripe for MultiDweller with over 30% of apartment blocks and hotels in need of a solution that can deliver enhanced digital TV services over existing co-axial cabling. Pace’s MultiDweller not only addresses this need, but Auriga is in an excellent position to deliver the solution through its customers in Italy.”
