Pace Micro Technology has today announced that its new Chief Executive Officer will be Neil Gaydon, current Board member and the Company's Director of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. Neil Gaydon will become Chief Executive Officer on 14th April 2006 on the retirement of current Chief Executive John Dyson
In his role as Worldwide Sales and Marketing Director Neil Gaydon has led the development of the Group's customer and product strategy and heads up Pace's global sales, marketing, technology and product management teams. As President & General Manager Pace Americas from 1999 to 2003, Neil led Pace into the US market and through Neil's leadership Pace has signed a series of important new customers around the world. Neil has been at Pace since 1995 and joined the Pace Board in June 2002.
Sir Michael Bett, Pace's Chairman commented: "Through Neil's strategic vision Pace has become a leader in the global markets for digital television technology, winning business with some of the world's most important operators through an outstanding product portfolio. As such he is the natural successor to John Dyson and ideally placed to lead Pace into its next phase of growth as the Company delivers on its US contracts and continues to develop its business with payTV operators worldwide."
He continued: "I would also like to take this opportunity to thank John Dyson for the contribution he has made as Chief Executive over the last three and half years and before that as Finance Director. He turned the Company around following a difficult period and laid the foundations for Pace's future."
To coincide with Neil Gaydon's appointment, David McKinney, who joined Pace in November 2005 as director of engineering and operations, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. In this role he will lead Pace's engineering and operations teams and drive greater efficiencies through the Group's end-to-end product development processes. This is a non-Board appointment.
