Saltaire, West Yorkshire, 27 February 2006: Pace Micro Technology plc (pic.l), the leading dedicated innovator of technology solutions for the payTV industry, will be showing its latest innovations for digital television - from entry-level set-top boxes to its most advanced high definition, interactive and mobile products - at CCBN 2006 from 21 to 23 March in Beijing.
High definition (HD)
For the most spectacular images possible in digital TV to date, Pace will be demonstrating the DS810 high definition set-top box. This product was the first DVB-S2 H.264 HD set-top box to be deployed commercially and offers operators in Asia Pacific the perfect platform with which to deliver their HD channels and services.
Mobile TV
The very latest development in digital TV services is being able to access content on the move. Pace has developed the world's first mobile PVR for payTV - PVR2GO - which will be on show at CCBN.
This innovative product provides secure access to payTV content where and when a consumer wants it and provides operators with a potentially new lucrative income stream.
IPTV
For operators or telcos looking to launch an IPTV service in Asia Pacific, Pace has developed the IP215. This is the world's first set-top box to perform the H.264 decode in the hardware, resulting in an end product that offers a reliable, high quality service, at lower cost.
Cable
Pace is showcasing two of its latest cable products - its cable foundation range box, for operators looking to launch a cable TV service, and the DC621, for operators who want to provide an interactive service to customers.
The Pace Foundation cable set-top box is the ideal solution for the operator that is looking for a high quality, affordable set-top box to ensure a successful initial service launch.
The DC621 comes with a built in Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem to enable interactive services, such as video-on-demand (VOD), as well as deliver the compelling combination of quality television and high-speed internet in one box.
Personal Video Recorder (PVR)
IMS Research* estimates that there will be over 20 million PVR households across Asia Pacific by 2010. It is clear that PVR is proving to be very popular with consumers and is helping to reduce churn for operators throughout the globe.
In Asia Pacific, Pace was selected as the first PVR supplier for FOXTEL's PVR launch in Australia last year. The satellite version of this set-top box will be on show at CCBN for all operators who are interested in this new technology.
Pace can be found in Hall 2, Stand 2.301 at CCBN.
