Saltaire, West Yorkshire, 3 February 2006: Pace Micro Technology plc (pic.l), the leading dedicated innovator of technology solutions for the payTV industry, will be showing its latest products for high definition, cable and mobile TV at the ECCA congress in Vienna from 27 February to 1 March 2006.
High Definition
Pace will be demonstrating the DS810 - the world's first MPEG-4 DVB-S2 high definition (HD) set-top box, a variant of which is currently being used by Premiere in Germany to roll-out its HD service.
Pace will also be displaying the latest HD personal video recorder (PVR) technology with an HD PVR product that has been developed initially for the US market.
Cable
Pace's interactive cable set-top box, the DC621, which has been selected by UPC in the Netherlands to help roll-out its digital cable service, will also be on show. The DC621 was recently one of the few set-top boxes in existence to receive Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 qualification, which enables improved bandwidth utilisation and better use of network capacity.
The DC621 includes dual processors - a 240 MHz main CPU and a 32 bit cable modem processor - and dual tuner architecture. It can also be used to deliver video over DOCSIS. To ensure easy integration into home theatre and audio systems, connectivity options include analogue audio out, electrical SPDIF out and cable loopthrough.
Pace will also be showing its DC235 digital cable set-top box, which has been designed to provide basic digital services in a high quality package.
Mobile TV
Looking beyond the traditional home environment, Pace will be demonstrating its PVR2GO - the award-winning mobile PVR for payTV. This mobile handheld device not only enables secure viewing and storage of payTV but also acts as a photo viewer and music player, enabling users to view jpegs and listen to MP3 tracks.
Pace can be found on stand 16 at the ECCA Congress.
