DTG and Pace Micro Technology launch new industry award

5 March 2007

Saltaire, West Yorkshire, 5 March 2007:  Pace Micro Technology plc (PIC), the leading independent developer of digital TV technologies for the global payTV industry, and the Digital TV Group (DTG), the industry association for digital TV in the UK, have today announced a new industry award at the DTG's Annual General Meeting.

The Pace Micro Technology Award for the Best Contribution to Digital TV will recognise the product or service that has the potential to make the biggest impact on the digital TV landscape in the UK.

The Award will focus on the innovation and technology vision that has gone into the development of the product/service and its resulting impact on the UK digital TV industry.

It is not just the scale of the impact that will be judged, but rather the vision and foresight that was evident in the development of the product/service and its potential for impact in the future.

Neil Gaydon, Chief Executive Officer at Pace Micro Technology commented: "Innovation has been at the heart of our organisation since our inception 25 years ago.  Now, in our silver jubilee year, we want to recognise and celebrate the efforts that are going into making the UK one of the most advanced countries in the world for digital television."

Richard Lindsay Davies, Director General of the DTG added: "The UK is one of the leading digital TV markets in Europe.  We are leading the way in new technologies and penetration of services.  This Award will help to recognise and highlight some of the excellent work that is happening in our sector.

"As a founding member of the DTG and a company that was at the very start of digital TV, Pace has been at the forefront of this industry and we are very pleased to be joining with Pace in this venture."

Deadline for entries is 31 July 2007.  A shortlist of nominees will be announced in August, prior to IBC2007, and all the winners will be announced at IBC2007 in Amsterdam.

The panel of judges will consist of the DTG Board.

Nomination forms can be requested from Julia.Ruane@pacemicro.com.
