Pace has maintained its membership of the FTSE4Good Index series since its inception. The FTSE4Good Index Series provides investors with the opportunity to gain exposure to companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards. The indices have been designed to identify and measure the performance of companies that are working towards environmental sustainability, developing positive relationships with stakeholders and up-holding and supporting universal human rights.
Membership and acceptance to FTSE4Good is independently assessed. FTSE works in association with the Ethical Investment Research Service (EIRiS), and its network of international partners to research company corporate responsibility performance. EIRiS is a leading independent provider of research into the social, environmental and ethical performance of companies.
Pace is a member of Business in the Community (BITC), a business-led charity whose purpose is to advise, support and challenge companies to improve the impact they have on society. BITC membership allows Pace to further develop and promote responsibility in business, focusing efforts on the workplace, marketplace, community and the environment.
Membership of BITC gives Pace access to a network of leading CSR specialists to collaborate with in developing high standards of responsibility.
We believe that operating responsibly helps us deliver value to our customers and our business, and partnering with BITC allows us to take this further, giving us access to the expertise and experience of their team and their membership base.
BITC is the largest business-led coalition dedicated to corporate responsibility. BITC works in collaboration with 850 companies to create a sustainable future and improve business performance by sharing findings about driving business performance through responsible practice.
In the second half of the 2011, Pace participated in the BITC CR Index. The BITC CR Index is an internationally recognised index of how effectively businesses identify, address and integrate the management of their environmental and social impacts. Participation provides the Group with a benchmark and gap analysis with best practice. We are pleased to report that we achieved a Silver ranking for our CSR programme
Pace is a member of the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC). Since 2004, the EICC has played a critical role in driving improvement in the electronics industry. Through the application of shared standards and tools, EICC believes it can create better social, economic, and environmental outcomes for all involved in the electronics supply chain. These outcomes include: improved conditions for workers, increased efficiency and productivity for customers and suppliers, economic development, and a cleaner environment for communities.
Thus, the EICC mission is to promote a common Code of Conduct and a shared approach to implementing the Code throughout members operations and supply chain. EICC sets goals and measure impact in achieving the mission based on the following areas: Code awareness, Code adoption, and Code compliance. All of EICC’s activities relate to at least one, if not all, of these areas.
